It is important to note that a pole is practically never round. Likewise it is also never exactly 75 mm or 100 mm etc.
Thus to specify a plate size or compare types of plates or work out cost comparisons is never an exact science!! Company policy must cover the Practicality, Performance, Aesthetics & Cost aspects. Physical application must be controlled by good training of personnel.
To comply with specifications, only one plate must be applied per pole end and all nails must penetrate straight into the pole. Our tools can assist you in:
- selecting the right size plate - use a Rondo-Caliper to take the guesswork out of sizing and to get the maximum use out of plate sizes
- applying the plate to the pole end - use the Magno-Grip to pick up Rondo-Grips and nail them to the pole end, using a suitable hammer. It is better to use a load or impact spreader to apply an Anti-Split plate. A 4 lb hammer may be
used but care must be taken to first have the nails penetrating properly before applying heavy force..
